The fundamentals of yoga course typically serve as an introduction to the philosophy, practices, and principles of yoga. In this course, we have 15 modules and it offers a structured approach to help you build a strong foundation in the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga practice. This course aims to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and practices needed to establish a strong foundation for their yoga journey. Whether your goal is to improve physical fitness, reduce stress, or deepen your spiritual connection, this course provides a supportive environment for exploration and growth.

Yoga is becoming a popular mode of wellness and can be practised for self benefit and to help others. This is an online course that can be taken up by students who are receiving regular Yoga training as well as other Yoga enthusiasts. It will be an additional program for positive self-development and may be useful in future job applications as Yoga is being actively promoted by the Government of India through the Ministry of AYUSH.
The course is free. Anyone can enroll to the course and go through the content and quizzes. If you need certification, you need to score a minimum 60% in all the quizzes within three attempts, pass the final quiz and make a payment of Rs. 999/- through the course completion page.

Prof. Dr. Meena Ramanathan
Yoga Thilakam Dr Meena Ramanathan is a Professor and a distinguished expert in Yoga Therapy & VPrincipal of School of Yoga Therapy of ISCM, SBV, Pondicherry. Enriched with over two decades of experience, she is a recognized PhD Guide, IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, recognized Yoga Chikitsa Acharya (Yoga Therapy Consultant), Joint Secretary (Academics & Accreditation) for IYA, State Chapter – Puducherry UT, Subject Matter Expert and Task Force Member for CSIR- Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL) Project, Govt of India. She strives to empower the lives of Divyanga (Children with intellectual and physical disabilities), Silver Citizens and the Transgender Population. Dr Meena has more than 107 scientific papers, 26 abstracts, 3 books, contributed to 6 chapters, 12 copyrights & 15 Compilations to her credit. She has received multiple accolades, including the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and recognition as “Yoga Chikitsa Acharya” by the Indian Yoga Association. Additionally, she is a member of significant committees such as the Para Yogasana Sports Promotion Committee of NYSF and the Bureau of Indian Standards, contributing to the formulation of yoga standards in India.

Shri G Dayanidy
Yogathilakam G. Dayanidy is an Assistant Professor at the School of Yoga Therapy, ISCM, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry. He holds an M.Sc. in Yoga and multiple postgraduate qualifications in yoga and science. Currently pursuing a PhD in Yoga Therapy, he has been an examiner for the Quality Council of India (QCI) since 2016 and qualified for the UGC-NET in Yoga in 2017. He serves as General Secretary of the Siddharboomi Puducherry Yogasana Sports Association and has been recognized as a “Yoga Chikitsa Acharya” by the Indian Yoga Association. A dedicated Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga practitioner, he has over a decade of experience teaching at institutions like JIPMER, Pondicherry University, and Yoganjali Natyalayam. Actively engaged in research and yoga competitions, he has published in scientific journals and organized prestigious events such as the Swami Gitananda Best Youth and Child Award. He has received multiple awards, including Yoga Chemmal, Yoga Sudar, and Best Karma Yogi, along with several yoga championship titles.
