Music is increasingly recognized as a powerful medium for wellness and emotional balance, and can be explored both for personal growth and to support others. This online course is open to students undergoing formal music training as well as music enthusiasts from any background. It serves as an additional program for positive self-development and may also enhance future job prospects, as music-based interventions are gaining momentum in health, education, and community settings. The course aligns with the growing national and global interest in integrating music into holistic health initiatives.

The course is free. Anyone can enroll to the course and go through the content and quizzes. If you need certification, you need to score a minimum 60% in all the quizzes within three attempts, pass the final quiz and make a payment of Rs. 999/- through the course completion page.

Course Director

Prof. Sobana R

Prof. Sobana R has been serving as the Admin I/C of the School of Music Therapy at the Institute of Salutogenesis and Complementary Medicine, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry, since March 8th, 2022. With academic credentials including MD and PhD in Physiology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Simulation, she is a gold medalist in both her MD and music therapy diploma. Prof. Sobana has been deeply engaged in music therapy education, research, and clinical practice for over a decade, with 30 peer-reviewed publications, including eight focused on music therapy. She holds a copyright for “MEETS” (Musically Express your Emotions and Thoughts for Success)—a music therapy process designed to support student wellness, which has been implemented across health professional programs for more than ten years.

Mrs. Bhuvaneswari Ramesh

Bhuvaneswari Ramesh is an Assistant Professor at the School of Music Therapy, Institute of Salutogenesis and Complementary Medicine, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, a Health Sciences University in Pondicherry, India. She has a Master’s in Medical Music Therapy and currently is a Ph.D. Research scholar in Music Therapy.  She actively practices music therapy, is a clinical practice co-ordinator as well as a supervisor for the students.  She has guided 6 masters students and many interdisciplinary studies with the medical and nursing fraternity. With an ardent interest in research, she has presented her work at the WCMT in 2017 and 2014 and has about 15 articles published in the areas that include pediatrics, gynaecology, ICU caretakers, neurosurgery, and palliative care. She has worked with varying clinical populations within the hospital and with geriatric population, children with cancer, children with special needs and the transgender community. She previously was the Assistant student delegate for Southeast Asia from 2014 to 2017 and serves as the regional liaison for South East Asia in the 2020-2023 council and continues to serve for the current 2023-2026 council of the World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT). She has a fellowship in palliative care and is the Vice President of NAPCAIM, Pondicherry chapter.
